The new SSCC "Japan-Philippine Province" in Asia was

Fr. Javier Alvarez-Osserio, the Superior General of the Congregation
of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, signed the document for creating
the SSCC Japan-Philippine Province at the
opening Mass of the
Provincial Chapter
in Tomobe, Ibaraki, Japan. The Vicar General,
Fr. Richard McNally was the
co-signer on this historic occasion. For 60 years, the Vice-Province of
Japan was
under the jurisdiction of the
USA East Province in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. There
are 30 SSCC members in the new Province from Japan, Philippines, USA,
Ireland,
Indonesia,
India, Germany, Brazil and Tonga.
