This week, Fr. Bill Penderghest,
ss.cc., who served at Queen of Peace Parish in Harlingen, Texas, from
1972 until the beginning of 1984 (pastor from 1977 to 1984), is taking
care of the parish while the pastor, Fr. Alfredo Garcia, ss.cc., is in
Spain. Fr. Bill said that he has become very aware that many of the
people he has known over the years are showing their age after 23 years
– many of the teenagers he knew then are now 40+ year old parents of
teens themselves.
