Anwei Skinsnes Law and her husband,
Henry G. Law, tapped the archives of both the general
house in Rome as well as
personal letters from the Church and State of
Hawaii. Like other books written on Damien, it
is meant to “express the essence of a priest
who served leprosy patients for sixteen years until he died of the
disease himself in Kalaupapa, Molokai
the place of banishment.”
